God Didn’t Go on Vacation

Posted on by Bonnie Rodriguez

This summer God is making sure we know HE never goes on vacation!

For two years, Mathew has marked “no” on his decision cards over and over. I've continued to pray for him while reassuring myself that the average person hears the Gospel seven times before choosing to follow Him. This time, Matthew and six other boys said "Yes" to trusting Christ when a Campus Crusade mission team of athletes shared the Gospel with the Gables football players!  Now we’re praying he will begin to do Bible study with us to grow in grace along with other students.

We're staying connected with kids over the summer with one combined fun event and one Bible study per school each week. We're a month away from YFC Camp so we'll be preparing and doing fundraisers with kids as they earn their scholarships with community service hours. Will you pray that the free time kids have this summer will be used to build their faith and positive friendships?

Vanessa, an 18 year old girl from my church, was able to get me a meeting with her principal at Ferguson High to discuss having a Campus Life lunch club there next year! She was so nervous, but made a compelling case for the need for a club like ours at their school! There are 4,500 students at that school so we're praying as the principal goes over our curriculum and makes a decision.

Thank you for caring, praying and giving so that kids keep hearing Truth and feeling the love of God from caring adults on a consistent basis.

Grateful for you,
April Lovins
